US$ 12.6 Billion INDUSTRY by 2025. Eat it to believe it. Invest to relish it.

Pickles hold a wide range of health benefits like improving digestion, providing minerals and vitamins to our body and fighting against painful sores or boils (internal as well as external). In present times a majority of the population are becoming aware of meat-based pickle, thanks to the efforts of advertising, branding and marketing companies. Otherwise, people still continue to be more than content with plant-based pickles.

According to a data by IMARC Group the pickle market is estimated to reach US$ 12.6 Billion by 2025, at an annual growth rated at 2.8% during 2020-2025 period. That's a big boost to the food industry investment opportunity, and also a good news for investors in the companies stock market, as well as a reason for 'cheers', for the shareholders. Who would have thought that it is these everyday small little things that make a strong and futuristic company. That's why it is important to read e-newspaper like Ice Earth, among others and from a very young age begin to understand the value of investment. An investor does not just invest into a company, but also makes someone smile who has been working at the forefront of adding that product into the market which will make an economy grow, simultaneously generate sustainable employment opportunities. A true mark of a healthy company indeed.

When investing into a pickle manufacturing company you need to learn about the company's background, vision, mission, shareholder policy, location of business, raw materials procurement sources, vendor management, cost to production, employment on payroll, salary structure, stock holding, warehouse facilities, emergency protocols of any type, marketing cost, selling margin, etc. Only those who have been regular investors take into account these technicalities before investing. The remaining do not look beyond MRP, bargain price, online offers, bulk offer, expiry date, place of origin, brand name, packaging and ease of handling the pack and its product without wastage/spills.

Ice Earth should become a daily read among school children, to generate their interest towards investment from a very young age. Investments into planet friendly investment opportunities. For e.g. students in a boarding school often bring from home a pack or two of either home made pickle or a jar or two of a reputed brand say Nilon's. When other students exchange pickles of another brand with each other, they become aware of a whole lot of companies involved in the trade. If their thoughtful mind is propelled into finding out how each one sustains profitably, chances are a few might invest their pocket money into building a wealthy empire over the next decades of their life. The students will also realize that in order to meet the rising demand more raw materials are required- from oil to spices, salt to vegetables/fruits, and vinegar to packaging jars, among other being labels. The excess demand for raw materials come from natural and environment resources like plants, herbs, trees and seeds. When companies want to grow exponentially in this field, they also procure land and make contract with farmer association for replenishing the land with green and environmentally friendly resources. That means more greenery, or in other words, protection of green zone and agricultural land. More greenery means large carbon sink area, and also good for a region's ecosystem and food chain habits of its population, comprising of human beings, insects, bees, birds, animals and livestock. Therefore, a healthy and flourishing biodiversity is maintained and becomes an example of a sustainable environment for planet friendly hospitable atmosphere.

Nowadays modern departmental stores and online shopping are the new trend of comfort and value-based shopping, for both customers as well as sellers. Advancement in digital technology has brought people more close and connected with rapid sharing of information. Options are multiple when one needs to shop for a particular set of products. These recent developments has brought in FDIs in the online/digital platform, to the tune of billions of dollars. Consider the scenario when school going children, having become tech-savvy through Ice Earth explore investment opportunities with simple investments through know-how of the products they use daily? Their zeal to safeguard their saving will only foster safeguarding our environment and in years to come help in reducing the Global Warming effect, as well as help in regaining the lost surface area of Southern Ice Cap and Northern Ice Cap with sustained small investment effort taken globally.

On the other hand, investors and young interested investors should also know of the harmful effects of a product they use on our environment. In this story let's take the example of pickle in brine and salt. One of the toughest challenge the pickle industry had been facing was the disposal of large amount of brining salt. There are harmful risks to human body with excess salt that finds its way into ocean, lakes, rivers, pond, streams and drinking water. Dehydration, increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease and swelling in body are some of the dangerous health hazards of excess salt intake that mostly find its way through food chain or drinking water sources. A recent Agricultural Research conducted on alternative solution professed the use of calcium chloride in brine instead of common salt. The pickle retains its bite-strength. Further, adding sodium benzoate, fumaric acid and horseradish to the calcium chloride-brine solution restricted the growth of bacteria and fungus on the pickle food. This new development in the pickle industry reduced the waste from brine-salt combo close to 80%, and lowering the impact on soil. It is to be seen globally how calcium chloride can become the permanent replacement for brining salt and create an image for itself as a compound beneficial for soil amendment, by improving soil tilth and reduce crusting of soil.

Such is the nature of investment opportunities that one investment can lead to another, in a very short span of time. We started on the subject of pickle and as we proceeded towards conclusion another bright investment opportunity was discovered- that of calcium chloride, sodiuum benzoate, fumaric acid and horseradish. Investment opportunities are all around us. Regular reading of Ice Earth can sometime bring you to come across an area of your interest, or maybe something which you term as an opportunity for the future of which one had no clue of up till now.

Before signing off let's remember the rural household pickle makers who have plenty of mustard at disposal for giving that unique flavour and spicy aroma to all kinds of pickle. And investment into mustard plantation will never go out of business for all the unique health benefits it holds, right?
